Its been 2 months since I made the decision to enter the Outlaw triathlon so I thought I’d update everyone on how it’s going.
BUCS Hill Climb
This year it was on Mam Tor, a notoriously challenging climb in the Peak District, near Edale. I started off too hard and paid for it at the end but was happy to come 23rd out of 52 entrants. Luckily the Outlaw does not have too many hills!

National Hill Climb
After BUCS I decided to return to the pain cave and amazing atmosphere that is British hill climbs. This time for Nationals, representing local cycling club Beeston CC. This was not something I had remotely trained for or properly prepared for (I had even had a messy night out to Ocean 2 days before) so you can imagine my shock when we won the team prize for the best 3 combined times!

UoN go tri Duathlon
This I entered on a whim, having barely done any running for months. I really enjoyed it and found myself in 2nd place going into the second run after a very strong bike leg. Unfortunately my lack of running showed and I ended up in 7th. I was however pleased with this and with a fastest female and 4th fastest overall on the bike
BUCS Track
This has always been the main aim of every year. This year all the training finally paid off and we got the bronze medal in the team pursuit! I think the thing I was most pleased about with the weekend was my ability to handle the pre race nerves, something I had previously really struggled with!
Turkey Trot
Talking of being unprepared for races… having not run further than 5km for 2 years I somehow thought it’d be a good idea to join my friends in running the Keyworth half marathon. I actually really enjoyed it despite not being able to move today at all! Hug congrats to Dervla for winning the turkey, hope you enjoy eating it!

Huge thanks to everyone who has donated so far:
